Psx Sony logo blue screen burning fault hi, Iv'e been a guest at this site for a long time now but just recently joined as a member. In doing this i am hoping some kind sole out there will help me. I have bought a psx1 second hand with a mod chip. chip type i have no idea about unfortunately. I also bought a second hand copy of Final Fantasy8, Street fighter ex2 plus and Street fighter vs marvel. the problem being that my 6 year old cousin managed to damage both street fighter games and disc 2 of FF8 beyond repair. Seeing as i own the original games downloading and burning these games is legal as far as i have understood. Trying to burn these games has been a project now for 3 months without success. I cant get farther than the sony startup logo then a black screen with a dodgy quality blue sony logo comes up and the console gets no further in the load. i have tried making boot discs. tried burning in like 10 diffrent ways and have now a pile of close to 70 cdr which are all useless. Nero and cdrwin i have. but no matter what i do i cant get it to work. Can anyone please enlighten me on what the problem might be?

Re: Psx Sony logo blue screen burning fault What if your PSX laser is just too weak to read written media correctly ? Also not all downloaded games will work. Some people share fake and nonworking .iso's just to share something.regards, Stephen

Re: Psx Sony logo blue screen burning fault I'm guessing that the fault doesn't lie in the laser. but it was a thought that hadn't struck me yet though. Since i have downloadded and tried burning so many copies and diffrent files for the games by this stage at least one of them had to be ripped or backed up properly but mostly since my psx works perfectly with other burned games which i have borrowed from friends. and still the exsact ssame thing allways happens. It load the boot fine and then a patrially damaged Blue logo appears which says sony and the cd slows down and gets no further

Re: Psx Sony logo blue screen burning fault Maybe it could be that. but i'm kinda sceptic to the fact that no other burned game i have trie has ever failed to load properly. So i'm pretty sure it's my burning technique that is wrong. bu giving you the favour of the doubt. how do i check what kinda mod chip i do have installed and its settigns then?

Re: Psx Sony logo blue screen burning fault You have to open the console, and if possible take a photo. Some of us can identify the mod + the installation. As I said stealth mode is needed for some special protected games, not for all. I think it's just needed for 1 percent of the games. (or the game has to be cracked/patched correctly). About your writting technique: it can be bad but I doubt. There is not that much to do with burning. You got an iso. Start alcohol or cdrwin, insert a GOOD quality media (Verbatim is one of the best ones) burn the iso at any slower speed (8x is usually ok though it deppends on your burner) And that's it. You cannot do that much, as said, as the iso is given, if that is correct then you can go wrong only with the burning speed or bad quality media/weak laser. If the iso is bad, then this all will fail, but as you said that you got the same stuff from different sources, then these all cannot be damaged/bad. By the way, NEVER use Nero for burning PSX stuffs, there are several bugs in Nero, and writting .cue/.bin files often fails. *oh, and a badly cracked cdrwin will result in the same problem... * You better download Alcohol 120, they offer a 30 days trial version, start it, mount the image, choose RAW DAO, 8x burning speed, PSX mode and there you go, if the iso/burner/media and your psx laser is ok, then you have a working backup.regards, Stephen
