| Dvd +r DL movies on PS2 Well first off I have a ps2 with a dms4 pro. I've burnt many single layered dvds and never had any problems. I've recently made my first attempt at burning a DL dvd and I seem to have a problem. After burning the movie (Kill Bill) I tested playing it on my computer and didn't see any problems. I then took it over to the ps2 and everything worked fine until it got to the second layer. After it got to the second layer the movie would still play, but it would get a little gittery and skippy, almost still watchable but anoying after a while. Any idea's on how to fix this? I was wondering if toxic dual layer patcher would do anything or if the modchip autopatches movies like it does with the games. I was about to just say it probally is just the media quality, but then again the second layer played fine on my computer. Any ideas? Info: v7 PS2 w/ DMS4 Pro E.Z.I Pioneer DVR-109 Memorex DVD+R DL media (I know they arn't particularly great) |

| Re: Dvd +r DL movies on PS2 I haven't used any DL media in my PS2, but I use them in my Xbox all the time. I bet your problem is caused by the Memorex media. Memorex DLs are basically junk. Try a Verbatim DL disk. Some drives are better at handling disk errors than others. Chances are the computer DVD drive has better error correction capabilities than the PS2 DVD drive.

| Re: Dvd +r DL movies on PS2 Yup, Memorex are made by Ritek and we all know what a mixed bag those are. Keep in mind that videogame console drives are FAR more fussy than DVD Players. So media that is already questionable isn't going to perform well on drives that tend to be more fussy. Nothing but a Verbatim for D/L disc IMHO. ![]() |
