had a problem with my xbox HDD my wife was uninstalling a game and accidentally wiped the hard drive so I could not store any games on the HDD because it wouldn't let me in, and I could play any dvd films the only thing I could not do is play my back up games. So I looked around to see what could restore my hdd. I got "xbox installer evox 2.6" which it said was for mod chipped xbox only which was what I was looking for so I installed the evox 2.6 into my xbox. Now I can only play original disks. Everytime I put in a backup disk, I get a message "your xbox cannot recognise this disk, make sure that it is a xbox game, DVD movie or CD". It will not play DVD's without a DVD controller. When I try to get into the system info it says "warning this computer program is protected by copyright law". I cannot change anything. any disk that is not an original is not accepted. Can you please help

I doubt that you have any modchip. Backups should work without Evox menu, but it will not play if you had a softmod, which was gone when you played with the autoinstaller. So you either reinstall the softmod, or get a real chip and your problem will be solved.

i have got a mod chip, before i installed evox i could play any back up games and back up dvd's. It only stopped playing back up's when i installed evox

No matter how many times I read the original post, as it makes no sense. If you have a chip it gives a fuck whether you have a dashboard installed or NOT, it simply starts your game and that's it. If you cannot start your backups then something with your chip is not okay. Go to xbox-scene for more info. As said, the dashboard itself has nothing to do with backup playability, if your machine played backups before installing evox then it should do it now aswell. Didn't you reflash your chip's BIOS with Evox ?
