Windows 7 Coming In 2009???

Quote:

Chicago (IL) - Several industry sources have confirmed to TG Daily that a very early version of Windows 7, previously code-named Blackcomb Vienna, already has been shipped to “key partners” as a “Milestone 1” (M1) code drop for validation purposes. A roadmap received by TG Daily indicates that the new operating system will be introduced in the second half of 2009.

While it has generally been believed that Windows 7 was scheduled for a 2010 debut, Microsoft has revised the roadmap and apparently moved up the release date by a few months: A recently distributed roadmap of the OS lists a release to manufacturing in H2 2009. Microsoft declined to comment on this date.

Vista isn't really all that bad as those rumored to be honest and it is quite stable as well. I will add there is a few little things like if you use more than 2 gigs of RAM you can't install due to a BSOD but besides that the main issue is the authors of 3rd party products can't get their crap straight the first time so it seems and most of this comment is directed towards the printers marketed. However I like to see Windows 7 and currently involved in getting a new build made as well. It was also rumored that Windows 7 is nothing more than a stripped down version of Vista with less restrictions for one and the kernels are more friendly as well plus the install of Vista requires a DVD and it is rumored that Windows 7 is or will be on a CD. What they should of done was tweak XP Pro x64 then used that to make a better OS for the world as x64 was an attempted that couldn't get completed properly as well but they quit that it seems and went to another level in my opinion.

They did a great job on XP 32 bit so what they should of done is use that as a base and add the needed direct x 10 to it and better support drivers due to the newer hardware out there.

People won't pay for the same thing they already have. and the concepts behind the XP code base was buggy.

The Vista code base was written practically from the ground up, with DRM in mind, and ... potentially using code from XP, but the XP way of doing everything made sense back in 1993 when windows 95 was designed .... but not now

And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while saying it. Possible but look at my signature, I use 64 bit. However it could be my mobo that was an issue but if that was it why a MS update and not a mobo manufactures update?

Re: Windows 7 Coming In 2009???

My Vista dream machines are fine, super fast. My older laptop has Vista Basic and runs fast with just 1.5GB of RAM! Vista is hear to stay. Lets go back to when XP first came out....it didn't sell well either for almost 2 years after it was released! As for ME it was a nicer version of Window 98SE. The furture of computers will require more RAM so the old systems have gotta go to the dump eventually!
