UK copyright held at 50 years.

Requests by the entertainment industry to increase copyright from 50 to 70 years has been turned down.
Commonsense has prevailed for once but I feel sorry for the likes of Cliff Richard who will lose out.

If you haven't made your money from a piece of music after 10 years, you aren't EVER gonna make money from it

I don't listen to 60's & 70's music. I listen to occasional 80's & 90's music.
Gotta get everyone when they are teenager .. that's generally the bulk of your audience, .. and then you have them for life.

Who's cliff richards? (J/k).

Copyright of any music piece should be held by the artists, not the recording studios. The artists should be coining money from leasing their music to recording studios/production lines. The copyright would then be null and void when the artist died.

I agree wholeheartedly, I thought copyright was brought out to protect the song writers not the performers.
