Who knows ... maybe M$ recongises the fact that home based PC's are looking for the cheapest option & can convince people to get back to windows

Besides, it increases the DirectX base & sets microsoft in a major seat of power to direct the path of 3D GPU's

Isn't the PS3 going to support a form of linux? I don't want to accuse MS of anything, but it could make sense for them to give their 360 a similar capability.
