MPAA admits mistakes in 2005 downloading study

The MPAA claimed that 44% of the movie industry's domestic losses to piracy was committed by college students. It turns out that the figures were a bit off....and now they say that only 15% can be attributed to students. And that is if you accept the undoubtedly bloated figures in a study whose methodology was never examined by outside researchers!

This study was part of the justification for a bill in Congress that tries to link federal funding to increased monitoring of college networks.

Admitting that you've illegally downloaded movies/songs and need help to process/burn is comparable to robbing a bank, and walking into the bank the next day holding the bags of money to deposit them into your account.
Don't be surprised if people laugh at you when you make the headlines.
