Yesterday HP announced their newest product: HP MediaSmart Connect. The digital receiver is now available for pre-order and at Hewlett Packard they believe that the MediaSmart Connect makes it easy to view digital media from any HDTV. The receiver can easily find all digital devices across the room and show the stored videos, photos and music in a list on your HDTV.

"With HP MediaSmart Connect, HP is bringing the market a compelling Media Center Extender device," said Ron Pessner, general manager, Connected TV division, Microsoft. "Connected CE products like these are delivering engaging consumer experiences for today's digital lifestyle."

Besides finding content on your own PCs or notebook, it's also easy to find content on the Internet. You can buy or view photos from certain websites or rent a movie on the Internet. Last January HP already announced the product at the Consumer Electronics Show and now it is marketed as "an ideal complement to any HDTV".

"The new MediaSmart Connect will enable people to extend their entertainment to their HDTV from a Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate-based PC - delivering innovation as a result of our relationship with HP," Pessner said.
