BenQ / Philips Burner Discuss, TYG02 Problems?? at CD and DVD Burners forum; Im using TYG02 Media and my benq drive will not write them at 1x. It seems to only wanna write it at 8x or higher. Also can someone tell me if this is a good test? Thanks

TYG02 Problems??

Im using TYG02 Media and my benq drive will not write them at 1x. It seems to only wanna write it at 8x or higher. Also can someone tell me if this is a good test? Thanks

Yeah it is a good result . U do have to keep in mind that lower speed doesn't mean better burns

This was a scan of a ps2 backup. Is this good for a ps2 backup? I thought the slower the speed the better chance of a better disk.

The SLOWEST write descriptor for TYG02 is 2.4x, so you CAN NOT write them at 1X (ouch, that would be slow! ). For folks who need help interpreting results, just use the Quality score (yours is a 94, that would have gotten an A in school!) I'm sure some folks can offer advice for media in your PS2, until then I'd suggest just trying it yourself.

my benq wont let me writeTYG02 at a 2.4x. it will speed up to 12x no matter what you choose

I consider myself a quality junkie, and I burn TY02 at 8x. IMHO, if you are determined to burn really slow, I still wouldn't go below 4X. Just don't think you will see much of a gain in quality below 4X.
