BenQ / Philips Burner Discuss, Slow Philips DVDR1660P1 burning at CD and DVD Burners forum; I just burned my first CMC MAG M01 dvd on my newly purchased Philips DVDR1660P1 firmware version : P1.6. It was supposed to burn at 8x, but it used over 16 minutes to finish. Anyone else had this problem ?

Slow Philips DVDR1660P1 burning

I just burned my first CMC MAG M01 dvd on my newly purchased Philips DVDR1660P1 firmware version : P1.6. It was supposed to burn at 8x, but it used over 16 minutes to finish. Anyone else had this problem ?

check if DMA is enabled for that drive as a first measure.

Or it didn't like the media and completed the burn at 6X or 4X speed. Setting the speed at 8X doesn't guarantee the disc will be burned at this speed.

me too i have this problem. with the verbatim 16x not fake! write at average speed 4x and it takes 16 minutes

in my settings, at transfer mode is set to ULTRA DMA 2 - Ultra 33, i change it or i leave like it?

Maybe you should turn solidburn to off, because with a Philips drive it is always on.
You can do that with Qsuite.

If the current transfer mode is UDMA2, leave it be, that's fine.

oh, finally i download it..
grrrrr it always burn it at 4x and takes 16 minutes.. uff.. im coming to hate this dvd burner..
