Philips DVDR 1640P FIRMWARE? - Club CDFreaks

What is the latest OFFICIAL Firmware for my PHILIPS DVDR 1640P drive?
Also what is the latest PATCHED FIRMWARE for it (like, region free etc)

The latest official firmware for the Philips DVDR1640P is in fact P3.4, which is available from the Philips support site. All it seems to add is imroved DVD+R burning

what is the diference between firmware B3.2 and firmware P3.2
I just flashed my Philips 1640P with P3.4 official, is it ok?

I doubt if there is a difference between B3.4 and P3.4. B is for oem drives and P for retail as far as I know. I did try P3.4 and had some problems burning DL disks. Have reverted to P3.2 for time being. See thsi thread as well http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=126384

I am having massive problems with 3.4. On my Nforce 2 board using the Nvidia IDE drivers, I get almost certain system hangs at any warm boot. Even rescanning for the device when I can get into Windows after a hard boot will cause a complete system lock-up. It looks like 3.4 has completely reverted any of the earlier fixes put in for the Nforce boards.

I've had to go back to 3.2 which has none of these problems.
