Philips DVD+RW 8801 Version 2D06

Hey everyone,

I have been scanning over this forum for any answer on this subject so hopefully someone will know. I have the Philips DVD+RW 8801 version 2D06 and am looking to maybe flashing with the BenQ firmware. I went to the BenQ website and did the firmware check but it did'nt say if my 8801 was a BenQ or not, just said it was a Philips. I have not found anything about the version 2D06 on this forum but I am wanting to make my 8801 better and maybe tweak it some, like with the Qsuite. I don't have Nero either, just using the philips to burn DVD's and wanting to bring out the best performance. If anyone has a recommendation, a step by step guide on what they would do or where to go, please let me know. Thanks!!

Re: Philips DVD+RW 8801 Version 2D06

Welcome to the forum, HWK_FRO.

Take a look at this thread: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=178571

I have successfully cross-flashed a Philips DVD8801 drive to a BenQ DW1650, using BQFlasher.

Please be aware that cross-flashing drives is risky, and will void your drive warranty if it is still in effect. You must be willing to risk the complete loss of your drive to attempt cross-flashing.

After a successful cross-flashing of the drive, all functions of BenQ QSuite will be enabled.
