Need some help. Phillips DVD8801

Ok so i looked for a while now and im stuck. Basicly my drive is not showing up when im trying to flash it but it shows up under davice manager and what not and works. Here is a screen shot for you guys.

The drive was pulled from a new Dell.

Anyone know how i would go about fixing this? With the BCIC i can see my drive as a Philips DVD+-RW DVD8801 4D28 but im unable to flash with that. I get "The Drive Is not allowed to be updated."

So am i missing a file or somthing? I looked at the guides and i dont know if because its 5am or what but i just dont get it.

Edit im also on a Nforce chipset if you guys need to know that.

Also i dont know if this matters but i got 2 DVDR's hooked up on this pc. I unpluged my outher one that is the master. Could haveing the Philips as a slave be why it not beaing picked up?

Hi and Welcome,

there are two things that has to be taken care about:
1. Dell loves to set the drives co CableSelect -> Set it to master/slave according to your existing configuration.

A slave drive without a master is not a good idea. Reinstall the master or switch the Benq to Master and connect it to the end of the cable.

2. Uninstall Nvidia IDE drivers (only these) and let Windows install its own drivers.

This might be enough to have the drive recognized by Bqflasher.

Re: Need some help. Phillips DVD8801

According to the screenshot you posted, you have all you need.
Since BQFlasher does not detect your drive, there is some general issue with your system or even the drive.

Put a winaspi file, by example from nero, in the same folder as BQflasher and I think it will see your drive.
