| High PIE's with 1620 bulk I'm not sure if this has been discussed before. But I bought some the TY01's from the recent specials, and they're not scanning as high as I thought they would. (The scans are done on a Lite On Drive). I don't trust the results with the BenQ. I have a BenQ (blank faceplate) 1620 Bulk drive. It says Manufactured October 2004. When I run scans in CDspeed, the PIE has to gradual spikes, that go up to like 800, 900. The PIF's are low though. I burn the same exact media (4x -R TY's) in my NEC 3500 & 3520. and the errors are much lower. I was just wondering if my drive may be a "bad" one. It originally came with the firmware G7L9. I flashed to the G7P9, and then the Shuttle version G7T9. I haven't scanned any burned with the G7T9 yet, but i'm beginning to believe it's the drives quality, rather than the firmware. |

| Re: High PIE's with 1620 bulk Which write speed did you use ? What result do you get in nero cdspeed burst rate test ? Have you used other media ? Post a benq scan @8x and a Liteon scan @4x scan speed of the same media.
