| FW for internal of for external 1640 Hello all I have been using a 1640 in an external USB enclosure with very good results using BSOB. Althought the maximum "succesful" speed is 8X (achieving 97-99 in CD-Speed and smooth curves in benchmark with YUDEN02, MCC04 and Prodisc03) Should I expect an improvement in performace if I change the firmware to BEGB? Thanks in advance for you input. j |

| Re: FW for internal of for external 1640 It all depends on your enclosure. You can try out BenQ 164B firmware if you like, but there is no guarantee performance per se will improve. The max possible burn speed might raise, but as said before it all depends on your enclosure in the end. Happy burning. |
