Firmware update - Club CDFreaks

Hello All...

I have a Phillips DVD +/- RW DVD8701 (Rev 5D24) Where can I check to make sure the firmware is updated for this? I was told that my Phillips is actually a BenQ DW1640.

This may help. But, be careful - you will invalidate any warranty and, as with any flash, if something goes wrong you could damage your drive!

Your model doesn't appear to be listed, but check f/w for similarities.

Just a guess, but I think these were issued in Dell machines and , for some reason, not listed on Philip's site.

Seems to be a bit of help here , including downloads.
