Can't flash Benq 1625

I have tried many different firmware versions for the BENQ 1625 and no dice.
I'm using WinDWFlash. My drive is in an external Firewire enclosure using the Oxford chipset connected to a Combo Cardbus USB & Firewire card.

My Laptop is a Dell C600.

The flash utility returns a success after applying and once I cycle the drive it reverts to the previous firmware.

Thanx.

attach the drive directly to your IDE interface on the secondary channel. forget about the firewire card, it won't work.

It usually work on the USB interface as well. But firewire is sometimes tricky.
