| Re: BQFlasher What firmware would you recommend for a Philips 1628B? I am considering flashing with a BenQ firmware. Should I go with BenQ DW1640 BSLB, BenQ DW1640 BSNB, or BenQ EW164B BEGB? I've read some posts on this forum suggesting that flashing an internal drive with external drive firmware provides better burns and higher quality. Any ideas? |

| Re: BQFlasher Flashing to an external drive will not always give you better results.. These firmwares are pretty much media dependant and they all will vary with the quality of your burns.. Its up to you to decide which works better for you.. With any firmware, you may be taking a step back in burn quality.. I find that BSNB gives me slightly better burning on my Ritek R03.. Im getting 99% quality burns where before I was getting anywhere from 96% to 98% quality with BSLB..

| Re: BQFlasher Gotta send my thanks as well. ![]() I got my Plex740 from Best Buy today, flashed it to a Benq, and I now have 2 DW1640's in my home rig (with a Plex 712 on the shelf as a backup), a 1640 at work, and a 1620 in a second work rig.

| Re: BQFlasher I already have it, just showing an example that it may not have to do with the firewall settings. Now all I have to do is figure which fw to use with my philips 1628P1, things were so much easier when I had an NEC. ![]() |

The DW-1620 (B7W9) works really good for me. But if I change to 1650/55, it would be nice to flash the burner without changing the computer. | |

| Re: BQFlasher Hi As a result of this posting. Plus a PM relating to this topic. Would anyone care to test & post results. This information will be of great interest to users experiencing problems with compatability. Of course particularly, Millenod would appreciate any feedback sent to this thread. .Thanks. Edit: Please ensure that remove any other aspi .dll to ensure results relate to the use of frog.aspi. Put save your original aspi .dll on a floppy or something so that you can restore them on completion. Last edited by zebadee; 31-12-2005 at 15:24. |

| Re: BQFlasher Yes, when using frog.aspi my 1640 gets flashed, but there still seems to be some compatibility problems. I get a strange error message after flash (see pic). Maybe Quikee can take a look into it... . |

| Re: BQFlasher Using WinRar to unpack a .rar file is a good idea . You could also get the BQFlasher Zip File.
