Sorry, can't "show" you this. You'll have to do some search by your own. I started here long ago.
Note, your warranty is gone once you "upgrade" your drive.

Did you order it for $70 or $40? let's hope it is genuine BenQ 1655 or at least repackage of 1655. Pls let's know when you got it.

That's where I managed to bag a DW1650. All the CompUSA stores are closing around here so I grabbed a few things that were worthwhile and decently priced, including the BenQ.

So do here in S.Cal where almost alll CUSA are closing their door for good. Still I am going to different location in search of finding any remaining BenQ drive or repackage of BenQ.

Re: BenQ DVD Writer Are Vanishing

The shelves at CompUSA were bare of 320105 at my last posts in this thread, (because of the sale) but were back in stock today when I was browsing the store.
I didn't "peek" in the bottom this time, as I didn't want to purchace one at $49.99. However, I am confident that a portion of them are BenQ's, based on the "shake the box" test.
So, I would check back periodically if you have a store within a reasonable proximity.

How shaking tells you whether the box has BenQ inside or not?.

Crayj; Thanks for the information hope you enjoy your baby BenQ.

The BenQ's are packed with the egg carton type material, and will sort of rattle around in the box more than the ones packed in foam.
Additionally, the boxes with the BenQ's feel a bit lighter than the others.

I posted earlier the details about the 'shake test'. I'm sure it's not foolproof, but it worked for me. There is new packaging for the 320105 drives using foam on each end of the drive to hold it steady, and also a slim interior box that slides into the area on the one side of the drive (this slim box contains the audio cable, IDE cable, paper clip, etc.). The contents of the new slim box USED to be packaged in a 'baggy' in the previous drives and rattled pretty good. Also, the previous drives had a type of cardboard pulp packaging (pretty loose) to hold the drive on each end within the outer box. So...shaking a box will at least reveal if the contents are loose or not...and may also lead to finding an older drive (Benq?). The newer drives are packed pretty solid and won't make much noise when shaken. Clear as mud?? You bet! I'm guessing the latest sale at CUSA probably flushed out most if not all of the older drives. I could be wrong.

Thanks for this new information, there used to be in case of I/O magic if the dive inside of the box was in clear, plastic indication was none BenQ drive if was in pink plastic that meant to BenQ drive. Now look like is getting harder and harder to find out in advance whether the box contains BenQ or not unless you open the box.

Re: BenQ DVD Writer Are Vanishing

Yeah, it looks like they're throwing all kinds of different makes/models into the boxes now. BTW, all the 320105 Benq drives I've received were in blue plastic wrap inside the box...I think the non-Benq drives were in clear plastic, but I can't remember now. Regardless, it means opening the box.
