yup that be a 1620. About and inch longer than the 1640's and 1650/55's. I still have one with B7W9 f/w on it and it still works.

Re: A Benq 1620 ?

achemen, a happy guy.

I've two DW1620's burners (okay, nowdays my son, aka ValHall64 has one of them). Great drives.
Use Quikee's flashtool and you can load whatever 1620 firmware you like on that drive.

Sorry all but I'm still in hospital when typing this.

Re: A Benq 1620 ?

A few months ago I got a Pacific Digital drive that was a rebadged Benq 1620, and it had DW1620 on drive label but didn't have Benq. You may want to check drive label to confirm it. I flashed with B7W9 firmware and have had great SL burns with it, and I too use a Pioneer 111L for DL.

Re: A Benq 1620 ?

If your happy with G7W9 on it then leave it. I always flashed to "B" f/w's for the scanning capabilities with Nero CD-DVD Speed. B7W9 was the last f/w update so i went with the newest one for that model (1620). I never did like QSuite but others did/do. "G" f/w's are OEM's and "B" f/w's are retail BenQ f/w's.

And yes pinto2 my friend get well soon.
