BenQ / Philips Burner Discuss, Benq 1620 at CD and DVD Burners forum; Hi, I have flashed with the latest firmware and this unit still cannot burn a -R DVD. It only burns +R DVD. Can some one help me with this because I am just about to junk it and buy another burner. Thanks

Hi,

What kind of Media are you using (media code, not brand).

Don't junk the 1620, IMO it's one of the best burners out there for quality media (TY, Verbs).

My 1620 prefers DVD+R's, but still is excellent with DVD-R as long as it is quality media.

I have the 1620 as well as the 1655 and there some of the best ones I ever owned
tried and true! I use verbs both +and - with no issues

I use Maxell DVD-R and TDK DVD-R. It would only copy with +R disc any brand. I am at a lost and why.
