This batch of R03 is less-than-stellar, which is reflected in the end of the scan [PIF clump, increase in PIE].

| Re: Post your GSA-E40L scans here Albert have you tried a cd, i am asking this because the 42(and maybe the 44 if i remeber) series had the tendency to have C2 errors on cd-r that were written higher than 32x that was one reason why i removed my 42L from my pc.

| Re: Post your GSA-E40L scans here Unfortunately, yes, the drive does still do C2. Maxell Extreme 48x CD-R Ritek Taiwan Written at 40x No Create Disc graph posted. The scanning drive couldn't retrieve the graph from the disc due to write quality, even on numerous tries. An alternate disc written at 48x had scuffs, causing C2 at the beginning, so it's not posted. However, when scanned at this speed [12x], that disc had no C2 from the drive. A full-out 48x scan of that disc showed C2 errors at the end, though, which may be drive dying + a poor write. This disc has no visual blemishes, however, and is a result of the drive. Full-out 48x scan looks about the same.

| Re: Post your GSA-E40L scans here That's right. So far, I think I wrote only 1 audio disc, and either burned at 24x or 32x. It was decent, but I didn't save the scan. Nevertheless, playback was good for that particular disc.

Miles better than stock strategy would write it. Better to have a little PIE jump than a little PIF jump.
