LG Burner Discuss, LG GSA-H20L WILL NOT lightscribe my TDK CD-Rs, will only lightscribe DVD-Rs. at CD and DVD Burners forum; Could you please help? I just got this drive. I've burned succesfully both CDRs and DVDRs with ease, no coasters, all nice and easy. Then I decided to use the "amazing" lightscribe technology. On the DVDr, the label came out a bit washed out. I re-did the lightscribe

LG GSA-H20L WILL NOT lightscribe my TDK CD-Rs, will only lightscribe DVD-Rs.

Could you please help? I just got this drive. I've burned succesfully both CDRs and DVDRs with ease, no coasters, all nice and easy.

Then I decided to use the "amazing" lightscribe technology. On the DVDr, the label came out a bit washed out. I re-did the lightscribe on the same disk (along with the use of the contrast utility) and the results were much better.

Now, I am trying to lightscribe a CDR (TDK 700MB / 52x). I tried 3 disks, no result. I used both Nero lighscribe and Surething. For some reason the drive wont recognize that the disks I am putting in ARE lightscribe.

The firmware in updated on 1.01 and the lighscrive software is at its latest from lightscribe.com

Could you please help??? I am getting really frustrated here...

Thanks in Advance!!!

A.

ps. contacted both TDK & LG, no answer as of yet....

Re: LG GSA-H20L WILL NOT lightscribe my TDK CD-Rs, will only lightscribe DVD-Rs.

Hi anakin3

I have the same drive and I succesfully lightscribe one TDK lightscribe CD and 2 HP lightscribe CDs. I didn't lightscribe any lightscribe dvd. I had only one little problem. I wanted to re-lightscribe one of these CDs and couldn't. I don't know if this is a problem of my drive.

Did you uninstall your Nero before installing drivers for lightscribe? I read somewhere that I must "erase" all Nero's traces from my computer ... install drivers for lightscribe and then nero.
Or, could be a problem with your drive? I would recomend you to install your drive in another PC then see if the problem persist. Maybe is a faulty drive.

Hi!

thank you for your input. I have uninstalled Nero and the same crap here... DVD CAN be lightscribed, CDs not. I could also find another brand of LS Cds like HP. where I live right now, there is only TDK...

I will try to hook it up to another PC and find out...

once again thank you and I'm still waiting for all the input.

take care,

A.
