This drive really does not like Verbatim DL+R MKM 001. I am getting a quality rating of only80% I burned the disk at 2.4X. I did the same burn with Lite-0n SMH-165h6s with and gota quality rating of 95% and 2.4X. Maybe the problem is the media?

I would suspect the media first [is it made in India?]. There is a fair amount of quality variation between discs in a pack, even with the better MKM 001s from the Singapore plant.

Also, have you considered higher speeds, specifically, 6x? I've burned plenty of MKM 001s at 6x in mine, from at least three different packs/sources, and every disc turned out good.
