LG Burner Discuss, Burning Problems: Begginer! at CD and DVD Burners forum; Hello! Im a total beginner at this stuff...so have a good laugh if you want, ha But anyways, my friend, whos gone for the summer now, built me a brand new computer (EVGA 780i SLI Motherboard, GeForce 9800GX2, intel core2 duo) and I am having some burning issues. Burning Problems: Begginer!
Hello!

Im a total beginner at this stuff...so have a good laugh if you want, ha

But anyways, my friend, whos gone for the summer now, built me a brand new computer (EVGA 780i SLI Motherboard, GeForce 9800GX2, intel core2 duo) and I am having some burning issues. I can't burn DVD's or CD's when using iTunes or ConvertXtoDVD but strangely burning data dvd discs with nero 7.10 works just fine.


Im using two Super Multi DVD Rewriters from LG. The drives come up as DVDRAM GH20LS10 SCSI CdRom Devices under properties and that wasn't an option for the drop down product thing when creating a topic, so I dont know whats going on.

I have a log file from my last attempt when using ConvertXtoDVD and here it is...

any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated

Bump up the write speed, and/or try some "better" media, such as Verbatim-branded media.

Thank you for the welcome and quick reply!

I have tried bumping up the speed to both 8x and 16x when using ConvertXtoDVD and both have been unsuccessful. Just getting the same errors as before...

Do I just need to get a different kind of blank DVD's?




I forgot to mention my iTunes error in my first post.

I hit burn on a playlist and it starts to burn as normal and it get a little ways into the first song but then it cancels itself. The disc then ejects and an error pops up saying "The attempt to burn a disc failed. An unknown error occurred (4900)"

sounds harsh.

Ditto on the welcome and ditto on the bumping up the speed and media. I'd say burn them at 12x.


arrr you don't have 12x option........and you tried 8x/16x....both drives burn like this?

In the nVidia Control Panel [should be seen as one of the options in the normal Control Panel], there should be something about a RAID setup if there is one setup.

Also, if you can, please run Nero Info Tool [a free application] [http://www.google.com/search?q=Nero+Info+Tool] and post the log.

I have checked the nVidia Control panel and there seems to be nothing about any RAID setups. Just 3d Settings, Display and Video / Television.
