Digital Video Recorder & Home Entertainment Discuss, Toshiba SD-3750 pauses at International Chat: Hardware related forum; hiya...this is my first post, and I'm guessing that this could be the right area to post my problem. Toshiba SD-3750 pauses

hiya...this is my first post, and I'm guessing that this could be the right area to post my problem.

I've been experiencing pauses during playback of DVD's. These pauses may occur one time during playback, and for maybe a second or two, and sometimes at random points for a longer duration. The only thing I put in the player are DVD movies.....nothing generated on the computer.

Anyone else experience this problem? The player was purchased in Dec '01, and up until the past few months didn't exhibit this particular quirk. Any ideas?

Any help would be appreciated.

My guess would be one of two things. The lens is dirty and needs cleaning and/or the DVD player doesn't have enough room to breathe and is overheating.

thanks for your reply. last night while watching a movie, it went blooey. my wife paused it to leave the room for a second, and when she came back and pushed play on the remote, it wouldn't do so. she tried manually but nothing happened so.....she turned off the power to the unit, turned it back on, and removed the dvd. she put the dvd back in, and the lcd kept flashing "Loading" but wouldn't play.
anyway we turned it off and I will pop in a cd lens cleaner and see what develops....
thanks
