Digital Video Recorder & Home Entertainment Discuss, Sony DVD player not recognizing DVD at International Chat: Hardware related forum; I can play my recorded Memorex DVD+R disks on my computer but my Sony stand alone DVD player will not recognize them. Is this a media problem and if so, what media is best to use? Thanks.

1. Saying that you use "Memorex DVD+R" media does not help. See here for why. What media are you really using?

2. What is the model of your DVD player. We can use it conjunction with this to see if your player is picky and/or can't read +R discs.

3. What model of DVD burner are you using? Depending on your model it may be possible to bit set on your media to make it more compatible with players.

I think I found my problem. When I converted to MPEG it was in PAL instead of NTSC. I am re-doing it in NTSC. I'll let you know how it turns out.
