Problem with new Sony

Got the the new Sony recorder. Pretty good on whole, but few things that are killing me.

One is that even though I select a recording mode, let's say, SLP.

But then I record a bunch of clips at various lenghts. Few minutes here a few minutes there.

I go to title list, and the clips say, SLP, SP, HQ, ESP. --all over the place. What is making this happening? anyone have any clues? No point in calling Sony.

From your Sony remote control there is a botton which says recording speed and you can select various recording speed from there.
