Playstation 2 Help!

Hi,

I have a ps2 version SCPH-30003R which i guess is version 5.0 right?

Now, I've installaed DMS 3.0 v.2.0 and I tried some ps2 games burnt on normal CDR media from a friend and they worked.
When I found some other I burnt them with Nero and no one worked!

I have a few questions and I would really appreciate it if somebody could spare the time to answer them.

1) Must I burn all of the games on CDR or DVDR? (If DVDR what type?)

2) I have two burners, TEAC DVDRW and Plextor Premium.
Which one should I use?

3) Should I use Nero 6 or Clone CD or any other software?

4) Finally on those cdr media I used, a strange noise came out of the ps2's cd drive unit. The media I used were bulk Sony.
That friend of mine used Plextor media and they worked ok BUT toooo
slow. Is it because they are cdr and not dvds?

Please guys light up my knowledge here and I will really appreciate it!

Thanx

C YA

Re: Playstation 2 Help!

1 Depends if the game is cd or dvd based
2 either for cd based \tech for dvd based
3 clonecd is only good for cd based for dvd based use alcohol\nero\dvd decryptor\recordnow max\dx
4 cdr backups always make more noise than dvd backups.

Re: Playstation 2 Help!

thanx for the quick reply but as for the noise it is definetely not a normal one.
It sounds like something is stack and only with Sony cdr!
trust me it is very strange.

and something else.
The only way to check if the game is cd/dvd based is by the size?

There are a few ways you can do this
1 look on the back cover if its dvd based it will say dvd-rom if cd based it will say cd-rom
2 If you want to know before you buy the game if it is dvd or cd based you could go to a good cover site and download the back cover and look there for the same dvd-rom or cd-rom..
3 Also you can tell by the colour of the disc cd is purple dvd is silver..

Burning copies of games other then ones you own is illegal. We at CD Freaks do not approve of or condone such activities! Please purchase the game and then you may ask such questions.
