sorry i mean can copy protected DVDs be copied to hard drive? straight off the DVD player its self.

There so called Video Enhancer Devices that do this job (SIMA-1, -2 or -200) as other poster suggested do search in google for proper device for your needs.

If you want to copy from DVD to DVD you dont necessary need a sima or Dimax greg all you need is: the right DVD player source go to this website and, look for a macrovision removal hack. In this website it will tell you which units have a hack for MV removal.
