when i put a blank dvd-r in it says free space 0 and total size is 0,untill i format it.is this normal and if not how do i fix.....ps xp

well usually when you put a blank dvd in, windows just acts as if there is nothing in the drive, of course the real test is when you try burn something to it, if it asks for blank media then you know you're in trouble!
