Hi Folks,

I've just purchased a LG RH7500. I have this linked to my NTL set top box and the TV via SCART leads.

When I record to the HDD (I have not tried recording direct to disk as yet) the recording is fine until I switch off the TV. The recording continues but just records a black screen. When I switch the TV back on, the recording is fine again.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Hi how many scarts do you have linked between the LG and your tv as per manual?

I heard and use the following setup so might solve your problem as I have had similar problems when first trying to record, I'm with telewest so should not differ at all

AVI of Cable box to AV1 of TV
AV2 of Cable Box of AV1 of LG Recorder
AV2 of LG Recorder to AV2 of the TV

I only use Cable and not RF (main roof aerial) so I can't be too sure of what you are doing but you might need to have it all work through your AV / Ext inputs for viewing everything.

Hi, live in Ireland, purchased this recorder and use NTL (by MMDS, Microwave Distribution system) I set up the scarts as per their manual. AV1 from cable box to DVD recorder, AV2 from DVD recorder to TV. I was unable to get TV pictures and Dixons nor LG could help me. I used a 3rd scart from the cable box direct to the TV so I could record.

I could NEVER get the DVD recorder to pull in the TV channels, so I called LG again and they confirmed that the tuner in the DVD recorder must not be working. I have returned the LG 7500 and got a full refund. Shoudl I buy the same one again ? (I liked the menus etc.)

I recently got NTL MMDS (Dublin) installed and purchase a philips HDD/DVD recorder and im getting the same problem of the tv station not being detected by the HDD player.

Did you ever fix the problem? Do you think it has something to do with the NTL MMDS?
