Hi there

I recently bought myself an LG RH299H dvd hdd recorder, and yesterday I tried to play back videos recorded on a digital camera. These are avi files (copied to the recorder's HDD), and according to my manual and the sales ppl, my recorder should be able to play them back... only that it doesn't. I get an error message saying that the video codec is not supported.

Does anyone know what to do? Cause I can't find an answer on the web and the sales people are useless. I guess an alternative is to convert the avi files to mpegs or something, but that's bullsh*t, since it's suppose to play it in the first place? Someone suggested to another forum member (with a different LG model) to upgrade the firmware - but how & where etc, or is there another fix for this model?

Try This...Make sure you have the setting set at mpeg 4 in the setup menu. so when do the transfer , it will write in on the hdd in mpeg4 format.that should then work. if not...sorry.
