My parents have this dvd recorder. They couldn't get it to work. The thing would hook up and change channels but wouldn't record. I have it hooked up and it won't record I hit the button and it does nothing. I am usually good at hooking this stuff up but not this one. What am I doing wrong????
I have the satalite into the box and the box into the recorder and the recorder into the tv. It shows no picture at all that way.

Is the unit new or used?
Did it stop working, or has it never worked?
Do you have access to the user manual?
