Which format for divx/Xvid players

Hope this is the right subforum

I'm considering to buy a divx-compatible standalone player, and I'd like to know if there is a particular procedure to burn discs for these players.

Which type of burning I must use to put some avi files on a DVD?
Is it sufficient to burn a normal ISO compilation containing the avi files or I must choose another format?

Thanks for answers

Re: Which format for divx/Xvid players

I use plain ISO, multiple files, and it works with my two DivX players... with the obvious 2 Gb-limitation if you are using a DVD.
I tried to overcome the 2 Gb-limitation using a pure UDF DVD, but I had playback problems on my Amstrad 3016 (didn't try it on my Pioneer).

Regards,

ET
