Anybody knows where to get a decent DivX DVD plyaer in US or Canada?

I know there are a lot in Europe and Asia, but here for some reason it's an extinct animal or not yet born so to speak

You can find the new Philips DVP642 at Wal-mart, Target, BestBuy, and CompUSA for around $70. At least at their websites, and some in store. RJTech's players can be found at a few online stores and eBay. Same for the KiSS players. Oh, and forgot about the Polaroid player at BestBuy too.

Oh, so it IS getting better - great news.
I live close to the border, I guess, I can make a trip to US to pick one up.
Any of those players any good? I have heard bad reviews of Polaroid one and great of RJTech 1500.
Philips look cheap and appealing, is it good?

Everyone at the Divx forum seems to be pretty impressed with the Philips. And its only $70, and easyily returnable if needed.

Anyway, I have read some reviews and this baby is apparently what I have been looking for for the last half a year !!!!
The price is decent and judging by reviews it rocks !!!
I am definitely buying it.

You can get the Philips DVP642 in Canada at www.onlybestrated.com. Looks nice. Plays everything. Looks like the Philips is the only one available here.

They only have 2 products.
And what are the chances they will actually send something when you pay?
I have found plenty in reputable US online sites now and I will order one there.

Just thought I'd mention the LiteOn LVD-2001 is a rock solid player.

I can't find the DVP642 for sale in the UK - I can get the Philips DVP630 DVD Player for £72 though. What's the difference between the two models please?

Is there any DivX player based on HDD in North America?

Just ordered a Brand New DVP630 for £47.

I have Philips DVP642 for about a week now. It's an awesome player.
Works like a charm and plays everything. I just insert a DVD+R with 6 AVIs and can play them without problems. I don't need to spend tons of time to convert them.
