Hi,

I have a cd stuck in my dvd recorder. If it was a dvd stuck I know how to get that out easy by turning the power off and pressing the eject button on the recorder itself and the disc tray opens. But the cd is stuck in there and when I press eject it will say open but it won't open. Or sometimes it will say reading or sometimes it will say no disc. I have unplugged it for a couple hours and plugged it back in and same thing. I just need to get the tray out some how or something. Any ideas? Thanks.

This is a common problem if you aren't using the most current firmware updates from Cyberhome. If you don't really care about the disk that's stuck in the tray, check
http://www.cyberhome.com/recorders_special_offer.asp and see if the offer is still good. They may refuse to work on the machine if you open the cover. If they say OK, or if you aren't going to send it in, you can open the cover and carefully reach inside the front right of the DVD drive and hit the release button. If you send it in without opening it, ask them to return the CD that's stuck inside.
If you get the disk ejected, before you do anything else, go to
http://www.cyberhome.com/downloads.asp?Product=1500 and upgrade your firmware to the latest versions. They seem to cure the stuck tray problem, but I still get occassional coasters.

if u have alittle hole in the front of the drive u should have a little tool that came with it u poke in their and it pops the tray out enuff for u to grab it and pull it out. if not use a pin or something to poke in the houle till the tray slides out a lil but then pull.
