| Re: CDFreaks presents NeoDigits HVD2085 High Definition upscaling DVD Player Review I should have read the part about posting comments in this thread instead of at the bottom of the thread. I'll repost my comment here so can you delete the one at the bottom of the conclusions page of the review, Sean? Nice review. I've never heard of this company, but it's interesting to hear about a region free DVD player that can upconvert to 1080p even over component video. Is there any chance that in future standalone player reviews that you could run the HQV benchmark which tests deinterlacing and progressive flag recognition abilities of the player? You can get the test disc here for $50 including international shipping or $30 plus shipping if you're in the US or Canada: http://www.hqv.com/ Keep up the good work. |

| Re: CDFreaks presents NeoDigits HVD2085 High Definition upscaling DVD Player Review This company isn't new, they have had this kind of stuff around for a while now, but now when 2006 is comming up, the interest for "flat screen tv's, LCD, Plasma" have picked up this kind of stuff will become more interesting to the public. This player is great for someone who has a HD-Ready TV. But the real gain is if you get a HD-DVD movie and play it back, now we are talking quality. Most ppl who have bought a flat screen TV did it since it looks good, don't take up a lot of space etc. But most dvd players today dont support the upscaling nor do they do progressive playback. This will of course be standard on the new dvd players that will support playback of todays DVD's plus the new HD-DVDs or if the standard becomes blu-ray. It is to early to tell, but I am sure there will be high quality video, TV etc ![]() |
