Best DVD Recorder for use with TV???

I'm thinking about getting a DVD recorder to hook up to our TV set so we can record TV shows.

I want to get one that also has a VHS player because my wife has some movies on VHS that need to be recorded onto DVD.

What would be a good brand / model to get?

This one looks pretty good:

Panasonic is still a good brand, right?

You might look for one of the lite-on recorders that are easy to update the firmware to permit the copy of protected VHS movies (that you already own of course). Since you probably already have a VHS player, just get the DVD recorder and wire the VHS player to it and presto.

You can check out Ebay for some good deals on DVD Recorders which have already been updated.
