Works only on one DVD Player - Club CDFreaks

Hey, I just got done burning a DVD (Lost: Season 2, Disks 1 2 and 3) to a Memorex DVD-R and a Memorex(?) DVD-RW.

My problem is that it will play perfectly on one of my DVD Players (A Toshiba). However, on another Toshiba, a Polaroid and an off-brand DVD Player it will not play. The other Toshiba seems advanced enough and the Polaroid hasn't been bad either. What I mean by it won't play is that it opens up to the menu and I can click on an episode. But the video skips and turns blocky and the sound is horrible on it.

Here is the information AnyDVD Presents about the Drive:

Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1!

RCE protection not found.
Found & removed wrong DVD structure!
Found & removed Macrovision RipGuard protection!
Found & removed error zones between files!
Found & removed invalid program from program chain!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Found & removed 8 bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

The media is your problem. Try high quality media (Memorex isn't), it'll work.

I've always like Memorex, what would be considered "High Quality" media?

Mikeish,

Are you using Memorex DVD-R 1-16x discs on your DVD burner? That only supports DVD-R/DVD+R 1-8x discs? I had a similar problem. I would recommend 1-8x DVD-R/DVD+R discs on your DVD burner. Those 1-8x Discs are more compatible.

To obtain quality error free results only use 1st Class Media as listed on the above referenced Web Link. If you closely review the information contained in the above referenced Web Link you will find that your Memorex Media is listed as 4th Class Media with a 0-50% success rate.
