Unable to read DVDs after Upgrading to AnyDVD 5.9.1.1

Hi all,

After upgrading to AnyDVD 5.9.1.1, I was unable to read DVDs, but read CDs.

First I've checked the DMA settings. No problem with it.

Then I disabled the DVD driver in the Device Manager, restarted the PC, the DVD driver was installed again, but was still unable to read DVDs.

Then I decided to uninstall AnyDvd, keeping the registration information. Restarted the PC and begin to read DVDs .

I reinstalled AnyDvd 5.9.1.1 and everything was OK again.

Sounds like what can happen if you don't reboot immediately after updating AnyDVD. Did you start using AnyDVD right away after running setup or did you reboot first?

I've installed the update three days ago, and rebootet the system. Only yesterday I noticed that it was not possible to read DVDs. Something weird happened.

Re: Unable to read DVDs after Upgrading to AnyDVD 5.9.1.1

HI,

I´m still having problems with my registered AnyDVD 5.9.1.1.

I've burnt a DATA DVD with my registered NERO 7.0.5.4. (InCD 5 is not installed). With AnyDVd 5.9.1.1, I am unable to read the DATA DVD. In MS Explorer the DVD unit appers as a CD unit. If a select it, I get a message saying that the media is corrupted or contains a non-readable Windows formatted material.

When I uninstall AnyDvd 5.9.1.1, rebooted, everything works perfectly, I can read the DATA DVD.

I've installed old DVD Region Killer 2.7.0.2 from Elby Software, rebooted, and the same problem happens, I'm not able to read the DATA DVD.

Does anybody have a clue of what is happening in my system?

AnyDVD is just an updated version of Regionkiller. After you use AnyDVD try turning it off when you are playing the backup.

Sorry for the delay in informing you. The problem was with my DVD driver. I've replaced it by a new one and everithing is OK now. No problems with AnyDvd.
