Ultimate Fighting Championships 50, 51, 52

Fully tested the 3 dvd's for errors, none found. Was able to copy folders to hard drive ok.

Information:

Summary for drive E: (AnyDVD 5.4.4.1)
Drive (Hardware) Region: free

Media is a Data DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)

Video DVD (or CD) label: UFC50_THE_WAR_OF_04
Media is CSS protected!
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1 2 3 4 5 6 8!

RCE protection not found.
DVD structure appears to be correct.
Changed firstplay: Jump directly to TitleMenu!
Structural copy protection not found.
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Bad sector protection not found.
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

On all three dvd's the analyzing process begins and gets approxiimately half way thru and then program stops responding. Reinstalled Anydvd 5441 just to be sure corruption had not taken place and same results. Forwarded IFO Files to support for analysis.

Any ideas staff as to what is going on? In my experience, this seems to be an encryption-based issue. Please post comments. The IFO files are attached in zip format, and the sub-level zips are RAR format.
Attached Files
File Type: zip Desktop.zip (95.2 KB, 9 views)

Are you using Nero Recode? Give CloneDVD2 a try (free download) and see if that works. Post back to say how you got on.

Yes, tried CloneDVD2 also and the same problem arose. Also, cleaned VERY well the 3 dvd's before attempting the backup.

Did CloneDVD2 give you an error message? What exactly happened?

The program started the backup, and at 20% (approx) the program froze and stopped responding. This happend (but usually at nearly the half-point) with DVD Decrypter, CloneDVD2, DVD SHrink 3.2, and on all three DVD's while utilizing AnyDVD for decryption. Never had a problem before with any backups, this is the first set I am having problems with.

Try disabling this option, Changed firstplay: Jump directly to TitleMenu

Then see if it works, in some instances it will cause conflicts.

I do that on all of my backups as a general preference, but thanks.

Re: Ultimate Fighting Championships 50, 51, 52

I'm trying to backup UFC 51 and getting error messages near the end of the write process (finalization actually). I'm using AnyDVD 5.6.3.1 and DVD X Copy 4.0.4.15 (basically 4.0.3.8 with a few convenience updates).

I'm going to use rip UFC 51 with VobBlanker 2.0.1.0 and AnyDVD, then burn with DVD X Copy to see if that works. That combo sure worked when AnyDVD 5.5.5.1 & DVD X Copy wasn't up to the task while trying to backup Madagascar (Macrovision's Ripguard).

you say you got errors...care to share what those errors might be? I'm not familiar with DVDXCopy, but people are more willing and able to help when you provide necessary information...

WildFrisco
To be precise you are not using DXC. You are using DXC Platinum
Quote:
(4.0.4.15 ... basically 4.0.3.8)
and it can't handle ripping many complex authoring DVD's and many of the new protection structures and sometimes messes up what AnyDVD has actually decrypted already. If you have the original DXC which ended developement at version 1.5.2, you have a better chance of getting a backup. Platinum was an abomination.

OP floatempole,
Quote:

Your problem is that you are using a version of AnyDVD that is out of date. So update and you will probably (maybe) get your backup.

What was the gist of the problem 3 mos ago? No relation to this?

EDIT: >>OH, DUH!! Just realized the OP was an old post. Got confused by European format for dating posts. Just another dumb American, I guess. The OP posted in October not December! Disregard advice to OP! <<

You do realize that in this thread, hemp's question wasn't answered. And it doesn't matter if this was posted 3 minutes ago or 3 years ago. We're all here to contribute, especially since floatempole hasn't been able to resolve his problem. Plus there doesn't seem to be much information about backing up this series of DVDs, so I think all information is welcome.

DVD X Copy Platinum unfortunately isn't very specific about the types of errors, and I didn't take a note or screenshot of it. I have already successfully backed up the entire disc and tested it from beginning to end.

You're right, it's actually DVD X Copy Platinum. I can't edit my previous post to reflect that anymore. It isn't the greatest dvd writing program out there especially since they've stopped developing it, but it's extremely userfriendly unlike most software out there. It didn't require a laundry list of software just to make basic backups of movies (until the newer copy protection schemes came out) either.

But so far I've been able to backup lots of movies with all the features/extras and various copy protections such as Macrovision's Ripguard, Sony's Arccos, etc. and haven't run into one movie that I can't backup.

WildFrisco,
You are having very good fortune with Platinum. Most of the users who had no problems had very clean machines, free of conflicts. Or had dedicated backup boxes that were totally free of conflicts.

I'll probably get lauphed off cdf, but I still use the original DXC 1.5.2 for simple split backups. It finds the precise layer break of the original for those splits. Three bloody years since developement stopped on the original DXC and it still breaks better than 90% of backup software available today!
