I'm trying to copy DVDs produced by Philips DVD recorder model: DVDR3390
Ok, I tried everything and it simply will not copy.
with anyDVD running I tried CloneDVD2, 1click DVD copy 9.2.9.13, DVD X Copy Platinum
intervideo DVD copy.
- CloneDVD 2.8.9.9 gives this error: "DVD Manager 5.1 Common 0 4096 1536"
- 1Click DVD copy error 9.2.9.13: It goes directly to "Writing DVD" and then
finalize. And, DVD is damaged.
- DVD X Copy does the exact same thing that it goes to "writing DVD" and then
finalize in 1 minute.
- Intervideo DVD copy error: It goes directly to "Writing DVD" and then
finalize. And, DVD is damaged.

anyone know what is happening? Thanks for any help

Have tried simple copy and paste?
There should be no protection on your home made movies
Try clonecd if you have it

Re: trying to copy DVDs produced by Philips DVD recorder

Sounds to me like the recorder does not write a dvd to real dvd authoring standards and it can only be played on the device that recorded it(?) That would be a protection of sorts. Try what zac said and see if you can get a burn that plays in a regular player. Try it with and without AnyDVD running.

Edit:
Also, maybe this thread should be moved by a mod (better than double posting) to the area of cdf that discusses standalone DVD recorders. Members there would know more about the output of such devices. In this thread area, members mostly do computer based backups of their DVD original pressed disks.

Re: trying to copy DVDs produced by Philips DVD recorder

one final thought
did the recorder FINALIZE the recording thus enabling it to play on all dvd players?
check that out by playing dis in a regular player or PC

If it isn't finalised, use DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn to do it.
