What program did you use to rip to HDD? You could try just using Windows explorer (with AnyDVD running) to right-click-drop copy the Video_TS folder off the DVD to your HDD and use shrink from there I believe. But it may have a structure protection Shrink can't handle since it is not being updated anymore. Do you own CloneDVD2 made by Elby? Don't by the fake CloneDVD!

Re: trouble backing up cry_wolf

azunderground,
Ok, I saw another thread where it was discovered that there is a Ripguard related problem with AnyDVD 5.7.2.1 and Nero. Maybe this is your issue or maybe not. I didn't buy Cry Wolf so I can't check it out. Post #17 is the acknowledgment of the issue and that a fix on the way.

Don't know if it's sleep time or work time for Slysoft but wait a few hours and check in at here for a new update:
http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html

In the meantime, if you please, post the contents of the AnyDVD information window or just post whether it is a macrovision ripguard protected title.

Why don't you consider buying CloneDVD. Shrink is less than effective on many new releases these days and Nero doesn't even seem to care about keeping their own damn customer base updated. Slysoft is doing all the work for both programs and they can't keep doing that forever.

Re: trouble backing up cry_wolf

something is foobar'd badly now. I uninstalled 5731 and installed 5721 and still have the same problem. I then tried a formerly 'working' dvd to copy "undiscovered" and got the same symptom (structure). Successful using clonedvd now with 5721.

the result cannot be opened by dvdshrink. says bad data in file v08-1.
info only for the technically inclined.
