TRIAL EXPIRED + Have valid key

Hey Everyone,
Here is my problem. My TV Tuner software won't run unless I change the system clock back to 2005. I must do this as any of the newer versions no longer handle my sat tuner card (Direct TV on a PCI card!) And I have a letter from the S/W author giving me permission to do such. But if I forget to change the date back before I reboot my computer ANYDVD will display '21 DAY TRIAL EXPIRED' even when I have a valid key for it. I cleaned the registry & removed the software and did a reinstall. Same thing, I then use the registration S/W to input my key file & then do a reboot, same thing TRIAL EXPIRED! Last time I had to reformat the HD then reinstall everything. I refuse to do it again but I want to use what I paid for! So can anyone tell either the file to delete or the line to remove from my registry?
MY DATE CHANGE WAS DONE WITH THE DVB TUNER S/W author's written permission but ANYDVD'S built-in security feature is punishing me for doing NOTHING wrong EXCEPT forgetting to put the date back before rebooting and heck it may be happening alot more with all the 16 hour days I have been putting in.
So can anyone help? BAGGS

Although forum members may have some thoughts, they are not likely to solve your problem. You will need to contact Slysoft.

Welcome to CDF. Just a thought but I suspect that when you constantly change your system clock so you can use your TV tuner, you are limiting your ability to use Windows automatic updates (if you are a Windows user), automatic recalculation of any spreadsheets and a whole host of other applications that rely on an accurate system clock.

As jeff53404 has said, your best bet is to contact Slysoft support for help. Make sure you have all your information and I am sure that you will be treated fairly. Welcome to the Forum by the way. Sorry I cannot help you with your first question.

Re: TRIAL EXPIRED + Have valid key

Baggs
contact Tom at SS as in the sticky and they will help you out

They in fact gave ActiveX a new key
Kudos to SS for their help

Some people say that MS and Symantec routinely replace compromised keys for individuals, but that is not an apple to apple comparison

I think people tend to forget that when an SS key is compromised, and posted on the internet it results in pirating in the thousands

If an MS or Sym key is compromised it usually only results in the loss of just 1 user key ie 1 pirate user ensues due to product activation ie the first person to get there benefits. Thus if a key were stolen from a few boxes, that were resealed and the keys used prior to a customer sale, it would be no big deal to replace suck key, especially as the buyer would have proof of purchase versus date of activation
I am sure if an MS or SYm key were posted on the internet they would be far less gracious, and due to this activation there may be some method of IP tracking.

And don't forgetthis too from companies who give problems when the original user tries to re-install his own software with a non-compromised key : get ready for the police style third degree

We should all be gracious to SS for their generosity in this manner

Your logic escapes me.
Do you work for Slysoft or something? Sounds like SS can do no wrong, and others can do no good.
Does not compute, IMHO.

Re: TRIAL EXPIRED + Have valid key

God forbid, Zaq's resurrected another 3 day old Anydvd key thread.
Hopefully, this can be locked like all the others.

Actually, that's very true. But in the case of keygens, hundreds of keys can be compromised--not just one. I don't think a key was stolen from a box in my girlfriend's case. The box was sealed. She opened it. Her keycode or license number didn't work. She had to call in. Her code was already in use.

Yes. Many Symantec products require either online activiation (or faxing I think). I honestly have no issue with online activation (well, I have some mild reservations, but I'm not overly upset by it), but I know many who are against it.

I upgraded a lot of parts on my system, and consequently my hardware id or something changed when I had to reinstall XP pro. I remember having to go through an extra step, but I don't recall having any problems with re-activiation.

It didn't take me more than 2 minutes, I think. I don't recall anyone asking me tons of questions.

I am very glad that Tom is helping legitimate customers out. And with that in the back of my mind, I went and bought a copy of Anydvd for my friend's new lapop today. He's very happy that he no longer has to waste time ripping first (in addition to all the other things Anydvd offers).

I don't care as long as the company I bought the software from has got my back in the event some jerk produces a keygen.

Re: TRIAL EXPIRED + Have valid key

Yada, yada, yada,
Nothing new here that has not been said in the innumerable threads on this key subject that have been locked.
Why Zaq chose to resurrect this three day old thread is strange, at least to me.
I think this thread like all the others has more than run its course.

This is just more off-topic posting that is not in the spirit this forum is based on. I am asking politely now, please stop bickering and posting this way ,this with not help anyone. Lets start helping and learning, for gosh sake its the Holidays lets show a little respect. I don't want to have to close this thread also. No response is needed to this post.
