Is there any way to bypass a scratch?

Is there any program that canby pass a scratch ie faulty data?
for eg I have a CSS protected dvd with no other protection that has a 1 sce or less scratch on it
A regular dvd player stutters at this point but continues to play on

When I try to back this disk up, I run anydvd 5631, and have tried
dvddecypter, dvd shrink, vobBlanker, clonedvd I get a read error
Even the dvd shrink analysis fails other wise i could have edited that scene out
I even tried ISO buster to try to read the error VOb, but same error

Thanks

Re: Is there any way to bypass a scratch?

can you try it in a different drive? sometimes different drives are better readers than others.

also sometimes setting drive speed control in anydvd to "slow & quiet" will slow the drive down enough to be able to rip through it.

sounds like you've tried all teh software options. In my experience, DVD Decrypter is the best at problem discs so if that doesn't work I don't have any better suggestions on that end.

where is the scratch? you said you can see the stutter on your dvd player. is it in the main movie? (I'm guessing yes, if you're going through all this trouble)

If the scratch isn't within the main movie and interrupts special features you can rip the movie only.

other than that you're at the mercy of every home remedy and voodoo tactic to fill in scratches ranging from toothpaste to brasso to car wax to furniture polish. if you have a disc resurfacer, that would be the ideal method if the less invasive suggestions above prove unfruitful.
