@ inkadinkado

Thank you for getting a hold of this early to get an update for anydvd as this will keep from having multi threads to get help on backing this up when it is released tomorrow.
I do not generally address issues assuming where the poster lives, nor how they got hold of their dvd. And I did not mean to support the notion of bashing AnyDVD in the AnyDVD forum, nor loading up the AnyDVD forum with messages suggesting the answer to everything is to run off to a different software program. But reading "go away" messages to posters who offer alternative solutions when AnyDVD has an issue with a particular title seems pretty rude and gets tiresome. Just my opinion - not trying to start an argument.

I like your suggestion though - CDFreaks might open up a "RipIt4Me" forum, although I don't know that it will generate the message traffic AnyDVD does.

Re: Talladega Nights

This is the AnyDVD forum. I hate to do this but ( I assume ) if you are in this forum you have purchased this product or are thinking of trying it. Just a heads up to those who are thinking of purchasing AnyDVD, Sony or whoever else is puting on the copy protection isn't giving SS a heads up that a new protection is out. After you purchase AnyDVD you get a lifetime of updates. As a owner of AnyDVD you also get the right to alert SS to a possiable new protection. Send them the .ifo files and there will be a fix and it benifits all the other owners. If I own something and there is a chance I notice something is abug and can do something about it, your darn toot'in I'll take that opertunity. How many other software developers respond so quickly.jmho.

There is no official section here but there is a section that users post and get help on this no sectioned software. Here's one thread for that.

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=184897

More here just go pass the sub-forums.

http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=62

As for the inclination of where the OP got their DVD I careless to be honest as I don't work for no one and I also don't condone getting a rental copy of a DVD and backing it up either and this is the only way to get these early releases is to work for BB, Hollywood video ect.... It was nice of him to address this issue so slysoft can issue an update hopefully by tomorrow morning. Anyhow now the users that come here that offer alternative can now see there is a section for this talk if there is no sub forum for it. My opinion is like this: I have a Windows problem and I post on a windows only help forum and someone says get a Mac or Linux. This is what I think is rude. As to you thought my comment was a litte or down right rude, My apologies for that as it wasn't what I was trying to do.

Re: Talladega Nights

I think that there is nothing wrong with anyone who might mention an alternative option to back-up a DVD.
We're all intelligent enough to decide for ourselves whether we would like to get the movie done right away with an alternative program, or wait for Slysoft to crack this DVD (James already posted that he 'will' crack this encryption, did he not?). There's no rush though is there?

I personally have AnyDVD, DVDFab, RipIt4Me, yada, yada....and if I'd like to try one program for this movie and AnyDVD for another movie, that's my prerogative, is it not?

Let's lighten up a bit.... I don't think anyone is trying to 'knock' AnyDVD, but merely suggesting options for anyone who might be interested. We're all adults here, capable of making up our own minds.

Re: Talladega Nights

They in the past put the name of the movie where the protection appears, not the user that sent the IFO.

-Added support for new versions of the SONY Arccos protection(e.g. Tallageda Nights)
-to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors"

The latest update covers at least 4 movies I know of, very likely to be much more. I no longer write titles because people don't update because they think "I don't have this title", but whine if their old version doesn't copy their newest movie.

I agree with your comments and respect the opinions of others as well. I come in here to learn - and assist others when I have something to offer. We each have our favorite software to accomplish whatever, and having a number of options available in our computer toolbox is definitely the way to go.

It appears to me that you are trying to be the judge as to what is "true help".
Last I knew, that was the job for the moderators, which I note you are not.
I also note that no moderator has admonished the poster for posting in the wrong place.
with this type of rational
if somebody had a mercedes and posted in a mercedes forum for help
and somebody replies : a Kia spectra will get you to work, get that instead

now that would be really helpfull

Re: Talladega Nights

I would also like to know what movies are fixed by this...Also is their a list out their of historically troublesome dvds. Like movies that caused a big problem, or currently cause a problem. I would like to see a list like just purely for more knowledge...I dont know much about dvd copy protection methods, and think it would be an interesting way to start

BTW...jamoskeag3, irregardless of whether or not you feel this is the right place, "the way i see it" your suggestion of another software is unwanted in this thread. If you feel so noble about your advice...open a second thread. This is a Talladega Nights thread yes, but it is inside an ANYDVD section

Re: Talladega Nights

Possibly the below Forum posting by SlySoft (James) will shed some light on why SlySoft no longer puts Movie Titles in the change log ->

IMHO , your analogy does not work as you stated it, cause if you go back and closely read the first post, its about the movie Talladega Nights.
Thus , the movie is the Mercedes, not Anydvd (Anydvd is more like the broken starter.)
BTW, the proofs in the pudding: Just look at the title of this thread, It is:
Talladega Nights.

You know, Im not the one who posted the alternative, but I am the one defending his right to do so.
Just my thoughts. I recognize and respect that you and others have different ones. So, you have a good day.

I kind of agree with jamoskeag3 . . .
I think the issue here is whether you think the need of the poster and objective of your comment is to somehow provide Chrysler Corp. information to assist in fixing the Mercedes - or to somehow get to work while the Mercedes is malfunctioning. If someone chooses to assist in getting to work, all sorts of suggestions might make a lot of sense . . .
