@ mkotto2,

It would be helpful if provided detailed information as to exactly what problems you are experiencing with the AnyDVD v6.0.9.9/ CloneDVD v2.9.03 combination. The statement “neither have worked thus far” provides sparse information for Forum Members to be able to prove help with your problem.

I was able to back-up this one with ANYDVD and DVD Shrink the day it came out.

Re: Talladega Nights

AnyDVD 6.1.2.5
Clone DVD2 2.9.0.3
DVDshrink
RI4M
VobBlanker
FixVTS
PgcEdit
DVDFabPlatinum
DVDDecrypter
DVDFab Decrypter
All newest versions and I cannot rip this movie. I have the UR R1 vers.
I have now two copies of it as the store I bought at won't take them back (eBay here I come :-)
Neither one will back up for me.
I get I/O errors or cyclic redundancy errors mostly but I have had others with the other software.
Both movies will start and get somewhere in the 40% to 70% range and then that is it.
I am ready to give up.
Yes, I have disabled the other software or uninstalled it entirely just to avoid conflicts. I am also working on two different PCs just to be sure as well.
I just bought the 2nd copy a week ago. Could it be $ony is adding new protections to new discs?
Or, as my wife usually asserts, am I just an idiot.
:-)

Yes, but I'm pretty sure every main program you mentioned can handle that disc with ease (I know Anydvd can). Is your reader set to region 1?

visit http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.ph...52&postcount=1

and answer http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=182650 fully (especially #7)

It's entirely possibly your reader could be dying, and it's also possible you got two bad discs.

Re: Talladega Nights

It is set to R1 I have tried most all thelittle techniques in here and still to no avail. I think after 2 copies costing 15$ each, I think my time trying this is over. This is the first disc I have ever had this much trouble with, hell! Saw was easy compared to this one.
I am starting to think I have 2 bad discs. I just did 2 other movies a few minutes ago, including a well scratched copy of RepoMan that went off without a hitch.

Re: Talladega Nights

... duh duh DUUUUUHHH!
Wouldn't ya know it. $ony made two craptastic discs! LOL I went back to the store and figured' "Hey! WTF all I can do is ask." Worst they could say is no. I guess it was my lucky day. They took back the first two discs (I had to lose 15% for restock/opened item fee) I got a 3rd disc (I'm a slow learner :-) and voila! That one worked the first time with AD and CloneDVD2. So, what should have been done the 1st time for 15$ cost me 4$ in retrun fees plus the new disc for total of 19$.
Sigh.
What's done is done.
LOL
thanks for the bump anyway and Go SLysoft! AD roxors ...

No. I disagree. Do you know how hard it is to convince people they got bad original discs? You were smart. It's stubborn people that are the morons.

Re: Talladega Nights

@ mtbmed,

The first Talladega Nights DVD Movie you purchased was defective. You should have been able to return this defective DVD Movie and have gotten a replacement free of charge with no questions asked. The replacement DVD provided was also defective and you should have been able to return it and gotten a replacement free of charge. You should have never had to purchase another Talladega Nights DVD Movie because these DVDs were defectively manufactured.

There should not be any bogus 15% restocking free for a defective product.

I am sorry but in my book a greedy retailer ripped you off with their bogus 15% restocking free. Your retailer ripped you off for 19 bucks selling you defectively manufactured items. I would be having a heart to heart meaningful conversation with the stored manager demanding my money back and an apology for the inconvenience they caused you.

Best Regards,
bjkg

Re: Talladega Nights

@bjkg - Yeah, good luck with that. My first mistake was buying my DVD at Worst Buy.

I will ask tho ... again cuz what are they gonna tell me? at worst ... no. I been married 15 years I can handle NO. :-)

I just looked up their store return policy and it seems I may have a pretty solid footing to ask for my 4$ back. It seems the manager decided to use his own discretion when chosing which section of the BestBuy return policy to apply.

I'll give a go when they open...
