Slow Burning

I have just purchased and enternal Sony DVD burner, and would like to make a larger DVD collection. I am having some problems though.

The burning takes about 40 minutes for a DVD that has already been burned and requires no resizing or protection removal. I have another computer at my old house that it onyl takes 15 minutes to burn the same DVD.

My computer right now is a year and a half old. The 15 minute burning computer is 1 year old.

The burning on this computer makes the entire computer too slow to do anything else while i am burning. I did not experience that with the other computer.

I am using Nero Burning software. The other computer used Roxio.

When trying to burn protected movies, i run the Anydvd and use nero recode and it takes about an hour to burn a dvd.

Does anyone have any ideas how i could fix my problem?

A little illegal is not unlike being a little pregnant
