Consider that the download for
AnyDVD is smaller than most definition files.

They're tweaking it a lot to make it better and better each time...hence the updates. They're not adding specific code for each movie even though the change log says "added xxx movie to structure protection" or whatever. They're tweaking the algorythm that deals with the ArCCOS protection in general. So the next few movies will be dealt with correctly, and then Sony will change their protection for a new set of movies and we go through this whole cycle all over again. In the end, though, AnyDVD will win because there's only so many ways Sony can change it and still have it be playable in stand alone players.
All that being said, however, the reason they do not want to add the possibility of copying something that may or may not work is very simple. Look around this forum and see how many support questions they get here for things that are SUPPOSED to work and generally DO work correctly. Now imagine if they added a "maybe it'll work" option...even as a reg hack. What will happen, and this is guaranteed, is that someone will not be able to copy a particular title and they'll search the forums. They'll find the "reg hack" that enables copying of "unsupported" titles. When it fails, they'll blame Slysoft and tell everyone they suck because this supposed reg hack didn't work. IOW, it's more of a hassle than its worth. It's not like it takes Slysoft weeks to update when the protection changes. Most of the time it's a matter of hours if not a day or 2.
